Beware of Scam Sweepstakes Winner Letter Using Provident Financial Group, LLC’s Company Name

[November 19, 2013] — Provident Financial Group, LLC, has learned of a sweepstakes winner letter and check scam circulating across the United States. The fraudulent letter, which includes our company name and address in the letterhead, informs recipients that they have won a sweepstakes for customers of Wal-Mart, Sears, and other major retailers. Enclosed is a check to be used to pay foreign taxes on the “prize.” The letter instructs recipients to call a toll-free number and speak with a claims representative.

Provident Financial Group does not have a toll-free phone number, nor do we have any connection to this fraudulent scheme.
