Our Stories: Sergio's Impact
For associates at our St. Petersburg campus, there is always a warm smile and a cheerful “Good morning!” from Sergio Faccio.
Before most of us have our first cup of coffee, Sergio is already at his post and radiating positivity. His consistency hasn’t gone unnoticed. Colleagues describe him as the kind of person who makes the day feel a little lighter, someone who takes pride not only in keeping us safe, but in making us feel welcome.
His impact runs deeper than most realize. A former intern at the firm was so inspired by Sergio that she created a special book in his honor, titled “Sergio’s Seven: Wisdom at the Door.”
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sergio moved to the United States in 1996 and was a police captain for over two decades. He joined Raymond James in 2018.
Let’s take a moment to get to know the man behind the badge.
What inspires you to start everyone’s day with a positive greeting?
Everything starts with the two ways – be kind or not. I choose to be kind because I believe with positive thinking, we can touch lives. What if we all believe that anything is possible? For me, thinking positively opens doors. Kindness opens doors. Your smile is the best defense you can have.
What’s a piece of advice you have received that stuck with you?
My father was my best friend, and he taught me to be kind, because all of it will come back to you. He passed in 1998, and I live by his example every day. In Argentina, my mother would cook for people living on the streets. I grew up with kindness all around me.
How does it feel to be such a superstar at Raymond James?
When I read the comments about me on the blog I cried like a baby. I feel so special and it’s like my father said, kindness comes back to you. I don’t look for recognition, I feel it’s my purpose.
Breakfast of choice?
I like huevos rancheros! Garlic, onions, spices, so good. I drink too much coffee!
Song/artist that gets you in a good mood?
I love worship music and Terry MacAlmon is one of my favorite artists.
Favorite holiday?
Christmas is so special., I love this time of year with family and friends.
Sergio reminds us that culture isn’t built in an email or a boardroom. It is built in positive, meaningful everyday interactions that connect and inspire.
