Raymond James welcomes Texas advisors managing over $100 million in assets
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recently welcomed financial advisors Erick Carlos, CFP®, CEPA®, CPFA®, MBA, Marco Lopez, CPFA®, and Bart Gunter, CFP®, CPWA®, CIMA®, CLU®, AEP®, MSFS, CPFA®, to Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS) – the firm’s independent advisor channel – according to Kirk Bell, Central division director for RJFS.
The advisors arrive from LPL Financial, where they managed over $100 million in client assets. As Texas Private Wealth Advisors, based in Dallas, Texas, they provide holistic financial planning and guidance to a variety of clients, including business owners, families, individuals, corporate executives and those in or nearing retirement.

Carlos began his financial services career in 2009 and joins Raymond James after eight years at his previous firm. His years of industry experience are backed by a bachelor’s degree in management from Park University, an MBA from Webster University alongside the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, Certified Exit Planning Advisor® and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor® designations. Currently, he serves as an adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University teaching the CFP® curriculum.
Lopez has over 27 years of financial services industry experience, beginning his career in 1996 at Fidelity. He previously co-hosted “Serious Money” on Dallas Talk Radio KSKY 660 AM, where he educated listeners on economic trends and key financial topics affecting investing families. Additionally, he holds the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor® designation.
Gunter earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, Certified Investment Management Analyst®, Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, Chartered Life Underwriter® and Accredited Estate Planner® designations in addition to a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and a master’s degree in financial services from American College. He affiliated with his previous firm in 2013 and has 23 years of industry experience. His primary areas of expertise include financial planning, investment management, risk management, debt management, estate and legacy planning.
